Workshop
description: Whether you are brand new to the world of dyeing or just
need a refresher, this workshop will get you started on a fun, easy journey.
On the first day you’ll begin by learning how to use the MX Fiber Reactive
dyes on cotton, in an immersion dye bath as well as painting on cloth and
fiber with thickened dyes. The second day, you’ll explore the same
techniques on wool and silk using the WashFast Acid Dyes. You will bring
both fabric and yarns to work on. See how easy it is to create one of a kind
dyed fibers!!!
Instructor bio: Vicki Jensen is the Classroom Coordinator and Lab
Manager for PRO Chemical & Dye. She has an MFA in Fibers from Arizona State
University and completed a residency at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts
in 1996. Her teaching experience includes weaving, spinning, and quilting
guilds around the United States. Her ikat resist dyed textiles and art
quilts have been in many juried and invitational exhibitions and can be
found in private collections in the United States and Japan.
