September 10-14, 2008 Surface Design Intensive

Workshop description: Surface Design Intensive will give students information about how to dye and paint the colors they need for their unique visions. In addition to learning to immersion-dye and to paint with dyes, students will experiment with printing, resists, discharges, silkscreening, and the application of metallic foil. Students will leave with luscious useable yardage, but more importantly, with the information necessary to dye what they need in the future. Instructor bio: Jeannette's quilts have been shown in Visions, Craft National, Fiberarts International, Tactile Architecture, and other national and international solo and group shows. Represented in public and private collections, her work has appeared in The Art Quilt, Visions: A New Decade, American Craft, Art/Quilt magazine, Fiberarts, Surface, New Zealand Quilter, Quilts Japan, and other publications.
